Belarusian footwear suppliers are getting ready for extremely cold winter
Belarusian wholesale suppliers expect upturn in demand for warm footwear in view of all-time cold winter forecast.
"Last year, we experienced high demand for warm footwear due to cold winter. Severe cold is expected this season as well, that is why we have corrected the selection of products in favor of winter models. Polish manufacturers has sewn series of footwear of beaver lamb skin specially for Belarus and Russia. This is the unique case, when Poland does not manufacture such warm products for itself", Evgeniy Markevich, the Director of "Topo", LLC, informed the portal www.interfax.by.
Vladimir Kulagin, the Head of Sales Department of the Republican Unitary Enterprise "Smilovichi walk-mill" informed that the company planned to increase production of felt-boots by 20%.
"Cold weather experienced last year contributed to growth of popularity of Belarusian felt-boots. This year, sales have started significantly earlier - already in August. Today, we sell products to Russia, the Ukraine, the Baltic states. Felt-boots were not in favor among the Belarusians themselves last year, but this year, domestic businesspersons willing to sell mill's products on the territory of the Republic have already addressed us. We have enlarged the assortment and started production of children's felt-boots with soles made of thermoplastic rubber for this season", Vladimir Kulagin told.
The staff of the Private Enterprise "ChicGroup" importing to Belarus footwear of different brands such as Basconi, Brocoli, Cantarini, Glossi, Mallanee, Mativi, Polivi, Sasha Fabiani, Stoalos expects high demand for warm high and short boots as well. "We are ready for winter. Keeping in mind the last season, we have made adjustments and we are ready to present many winter models this year. There are no doubts that footwear made of natural materials will be especially popular as it can withstand any cold weather", they said so in "ChicGroup".
Vadim Grinevich, the Director of the Trade Unitary Enterprise "OptObuvTorg", the company supplying men's footwear from Poland, sais that products made of beaver lamb skin are in the lead this year. He also added that classic men's short boots was the most popular model.
The companies plan to present new autumn-winter footwear collections at the trade show "Footwear. Bags. Accessories" that will be held in Minsk from October 26 till October 29.
"The trade show will provide opportunity to identify in more details new season tendencies, as wholesale suppliers, by means of this forum, will be able to show their goods to representatives from retail chains", the manager of the project told us. Over 500 representatives from different companies and businesspersons engaged in footwear retail trade have filed applications to attend the trade show.
